Uplifting News: Frederick Joseph’s Black Panther GoFundMe Campaign

Uplifting News: Black Panther

What “Wonder Woman” did to empower girls, is what Frederick Joseph is hoping the new “Black Panther” movie will do for young children of color!

I’m Alyse Hope and the uplifting news this week is about Frederick Joseph, a 28-year-old marketing consultant who created a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for children in Harlem to see the new Black Panther film.

Joseph, had one goal in mind: to raise just enough to send 300 kids to see the highly anticipated Marvel movie.

He wanted these children to be able to see that people who look like them can be superheroes, royalty, and more.

All proceeds will go to paying for the private screening tickets for children and chaperones, as well as refreshments.

Within six days of launching the campaign, Joseph exceeded his goal of $10,000 by an incredible amount, raising over $35,000 donating to the Boys and Girls Club of Harlem, who serves over 1, 000 children.

According to ABC News, Joseph said: “The hope is that everyone will be able to go to the film and what’s left over will be donated to the club.”

Joseph thank you for being a superhero to our youth.
